Agriculture plays an immense role in achieving food security, employment, poverty alleviation and economic growth of the large population of Bangladesh. “Palashipara Samaj Kallayan Samity” with financial and technical support from the Agriculture Unit and Fisheries and Livestock Unit of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) is implementing various technology extension and adaptation programs based on Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock at the field level. The two units are providing various services including technical consultancy for employment generation through agriculture, fisheries and livestock development, encouraging farmers to adopt new technologies, capacity building of farmers and officials, processing and marketing.
Mission and Objectives of Integrated Agriculture Development Program
To increase the production of members through the use of agricultural technology to ensure proper utilization of financial services provided by PKSF for poverty alleviation through employment generation.
1) Establishment of demonstration farms at member level for technology expansion
2) Organize awareness workshops on program implementation
3) Providing skill development training to members
4) Providing training on entrepreneurship development and market linkage
5) Organization of Field Day/Farm Day for extension of technology
6) Organization of Incentive Tours and Experience Exchange Tours for technology expansion
7) Providing services to the members in agriculture, fisheries and livestock matters by organizing agricultural advisory centres
8) Organizing upazila coordination meeting and planning meeting
9) Providing material support to agriculture (pheromone trap lures, vegetable seeds, fruit bags of various crops etc.)
10) Providing auxiliary materials or worm boxes for fish farming under fisheries sector
11) Provision of livestock health and safety services (deworming, vaccination).
12) Day celebrations (World Egg Day, World Dairy Day, National Fisheries Week etc.)
13) Pona release program in inland open water bodies under fisheries sector
14) Installation of informative billboards and signboards to visualize technology
15) Establishing linkages with public-private institutions, research institutions
16) Promotion-publication and documentation activities

Manpower Information: A total of 3 Technical Officers and 3 Assistant Technical Officers are engaged in Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock under the leadership of a Focal Person to implement the activities of the integrated development program under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of the organization.

Management of demonstration farms efficiently to encourage income generation activities of the members at the field level under two units of the organization, hands-on teaching about new technologies, processing and preservation of produce, assistance in various agricultural inputs, creation of entrepreneurship at the farm level, member training for successful marketing of the produce. , Field/Farm Days, Entrepreneurship Development Workshops, Market Linkage Workshops and Agricultural Advisory Centers besides organizing various publicity and publicity activities are successfully implemented. Also, various technical training and experience exchange tours are organized from time to time to enhance the skills of the technical officers working at the organization level to provide quality services to the members.
